Superb medicine cabinet of the Dogon tribe of Mali with three legs, made from a single piece of wood, with an anthropomorphic shape surmounted by a head. The cabinet has two flaps on the front, which open in opposite directions, supported by small metal brackets. Human figures are carved on the walls and on the doors and a crocodile on the back, all figures related to the rich cosmogony of the Dogon, with the aim of strengthening the healing power of the medicinal preparations that were stored inside the cabinet.

Curious Note : the function of this Dogon cabinet was to preserve some medicinal preparations made according to the indications of the elders of the tribe who had been initiated into the “jiridon”, the science of trees.
