African Mudcloth fabric (also called Bogolan or Bogolanfini), rust-colored, handmade in Mali through a long and complex procedure dating back to the 12th century.

The word Bogolan, in Bambara language, means “made of mud” and in fact the decorations are obtained using mud applied to the fabric. Traditionally, the cloth, in cotton, is woven by men with a small loom, while the decoration is entrusted to women, who use a great variety of symbolic motifs. This wonderful African  mudcloth fabric can be used as a bedspread, sofa cover or even as a rug, in all cases it will fill your home with charm.

Unique piece.
