Magnificent African beads necklace with Mauritanian Kiffa trade beads.

Kiffa trade beads were originally handcrafted in Mauritania during the 19th century. They were made with shattered recycled glass which was then fired again.

The colorful patterns of each pearl and the juxtaposition of their colors enunciated hidden invocations to protect the wearer of the pearls, through a tribal code based on colors.
